Archive the Instagram posts you have permission to keep.

Saver running on an Instagram post page, showing the save dialog with three media items and a ZIP option

Saving a post: pick the media, choose ZIP or separate files, done.

How it works

Saver runs inside Instagram while you browse. No links to copy, no second website to visit.

01

Open Instagram

Go to a profile, post, Reel, Story or highlight in Chrome — whatever you can already see in your browser.

02

Click save

A save button appears on the page. Choose the media you want, filter by type or date range, and start.

03

Files land on your disk

Media goes from Instagram's CDN to your Downloads folder, named by your template. Nothing is uploaded.

Why not just use an online downloader?

Web downloaders work one item at a time, and most of them route you through ad-heavy redirect pages. Saver is built for the case where you have fifty posts to keep, not one.

Typical online downloader

  • Copy a URL for every single post
  • Redirects through popup-filled sites
  • One file per action, no batching
  • Randomized filenames you cannot search
  • Your link, and often the media, passes through someone else's server

Cloud-sync extensions

  • Require an account; media is uploaded to their cloud first
  • Your links and download history pass through their servers
  • The free quota is rate-limited weekly; hit it and you must subscribe
  • Stop subscribing and your cloud files may be cleaned up
  • If the service shuts down, the tool and your archive go with it

Saver

  • Runs inside the page you are already on
  • No redirects — the extension is the whole product
  • Whole profiles, collections or link lists in one run
  • Your own naming and folder rules
  • Media goes browser → disk. No server of ours in the path

Performance: thousands of items, one run

Archiving a profile with thousands of posts is rarely limited by bandwidth — it is limited by scheduling: how fast requests go out, what happens at the rate limit, and where a run resumes. Saver does that scheduling inside your browser, with no queue and no server to wait on.

Straight to disk, no relay

Media travels from Instagram's CDN to your local disk. No server of ours in the middle, and no upload bandwidth used.

Concurrency and backoff under your control

Requests are batched; hitting a rate limit triggers an automatic backoff and retry. An interrupted run resumes from the last checkpoint and skips whatever is already saved.

Large runs split automatically

Past a threshold the output is split into several ZIPs, so thousands of files never blow up a single archive or exhaust memory.

What you can save

Everything below is limited to what your browser can already display. Private accounts and deleted posts stay out of reach — that is by design, not a missing feature.

Profile posts

Grid posts, single images and carousels from a profile's Posts tab.

JPG · MP4

Reels

Videos from the Reels tab, saved as MP4 in the order they appear.

MP4

Stories

Active Stories from accounts you follow, while they are still live.

JPG · MP4

Highlights

Highlight collections pinned to a profile header.

JPG · MP4

Carousel media

Every slide of a multi-image post, not just the first one.

Mixed

Saved collections

Your own saved folders, and a list of pasted links for anything else.

Bulk · ZIP

Built for bulk, not one at a time

Resume without duplicates

A local index remembers what was already saved. Interrupted runs pick up where they stopped instead of starting over.

Date range filtering

Only take the months you need. Useful for campaign windows and yearly archives.

ZIP when it helps

Pack a batch into one archive, or split into volumes above a size you set.

Publish-date metadata

Write the Instagram publish date into JPEG files so your photo library sorts by the real date.

Names you can search

Templates for filenames and folders, with OS-illegal characters cleaned automatically.

Light and dark

Follows your system theme or pins one. The panel can be moved and dimmed.

Files you can actually find later

Set the naming rule once. Every save follows it, so a year of archives still makes sense.

Tokens include username, date, shortcode and media type. Folder presets: by username, by month, flat, or a single directory.

Free or PRO

The free tier is a real tool, not a demo. PRO removes the batch limits and unlocks the features people ask for once they start archiving seriously.

Your files never touch our servers

Saver reads the page you are already viewing and writes the media to your Downloads folder. The requests go from your browser to Instagram's CDN and back to your disk. There is no account system, so there is nothing for us to store — and nothing to leak.

Some tools in this category add cloud saving and sign-in. Those features need a server that holds your data. Saver does not have them, and that is the point.

Minimal permissions

Only storage and downloads are requested. The extension runs on instagram.com and its CDN only — it does not read the other sites you visit.

No account, no telemetry

No sign-in, no analytics, no third-party scripts. We collect no usage data, and there is no database of yours to leak.

No remote code

Only code shipped inside the package runs, under a strict content security policy. Licence checks use Ed25519 locally and need no network round-trip.

The Saver family

Seven platforms, seven real integrations. Each one paginates differently, throttles differently, and structures media differently — Instagram carousels, TikTok photo sets, YouTube's multiple bitrates, Rednote's mixed layouts. None of them can be handled by changing a few lines. But for you they expose one rule set: same naming, same folders, same resume behaviour.

Common questions

Does Saver work on private accounts?

Only on content your own browser can already display. Saver does not log in, import cookies, or bypass access controls, so a private account you do not follow stays out of reach.

Do I need to give it my Instagram password?

No, and there is nowhere to enter one. The extension has no login screen. It reads the page your existing session has already loaded.

Where do the files go?

Your normal Downloads folder, or a subfolder you set in the options page. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party.

Can I save a whole profile at once?

Yes. Open the profile, set the batch size and content type, and start. For very large accounts, expect to run it in a few sessions — Instagram rate-limits heavy traffic, and a smaller batch is more likely to finish cleanly.

What happens if a backup stops halfway?

Start it again. Saver keeps a local index of what was saved, skips those items, and continues from where it stopped. This is a PRO feature.

Is Saver affiliated with any platform it supports?

No. Saver is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any platform it works with — including Instagram, X, TikTok, Douyin, Rednote, Kuaishou and YouTube — or by their parent companies. Platform names are used only to describe what the tool works with, and remain the property of their respective owners.

Ready to archive what you have permission to keep?

Install it free and try a single save. Upgrade to PRO only if you need unlimited batches.

Compatible with Google Chrome and matching Chromium browsers (Edge, Brave, Vivaldi).
